>Today is International Women’s Day 2011 !! It is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.
Why:   Suffragettes campaigned for women’s right to vote. The word ‘Suffragette’ is derived from the word “suffrage” meaning the right to vote. International Women’s Day honours the work of the Suffragettes, celebrates women’s success, and reminds of inequities still to be redressed (www.internationalwomensday.com)

Make sure you thank all the women in your life today, appreciate them for the changes they have made to you and to the world. I would like to give a shout out to my mum, sister, aunts, grandma’s and all my extended family/friends who have inspired me, taught me and blessed me with their presence in my life. I love you all.
